Item description:

See scan - perfect condition. This is a complete set of Imperial Russian jewelry workmaster Alexander Tillander gold and platinum cufflinks each cuff set with large 2.3 carat cabochon Burma sapphire. Finish / Finland born jeweler Alexander Tillander was the top rival and competitor of Faberge and Bolin and was the other major court jeweler of the Imperial Russian Palace and the Royal family. The Tillander firm was based in St. Petersburg and did some of the finest antique Russian jewels of unmatched quality and non the less important than Faberge. The present cufflink set is an example of the finest Tillander jewelry crafted in the form of stylized shooting targets with 4 concentric circles out of white platinum alloy and yellow gold suspension base and hooks. Each hook on all 4 cuffs has an 'AT' maker's mark for Alexander Tillander in what appears to be a rhombus like shape, as well as '56' Imperial Russian warrent hallmark for 14 karat gold and another makr which we believe to be a head - usually for St. Petersburg in the 1900-1908 period. As previously noted, each cuff has a large finest Royal blue natural color and untreated sapphire of Burma or Kashmir origin each weighing 2.3 carats or a total of 9.2 carats. Each sapphire has a diameter of 7mm and is 4.5mm high. All cuffs have a diameter of 16mm and total weight of the cufflinks is 11.5 grams. Our sources say that the cuffs were a presenation gift to a high ranking General of the Army - hence the stylized shooting target motif. The original Tillander case of issue is missing, but the cuffs come with a scarce Herbert Donath - Wien cufflinks leather case from same period in fantastic shape and a perfect match. WE GIVE LIFETIME GUARANTEE OF AUTHENTICITY for this exceptional set of men's jewelry and accessories. We should mention that the current market value of loose untreated Burma sapphires of that size is about $2200 per stone and here you have 4 of them set in a fantastic Russian Imperial jewel crafted by one of the most famous Russian masters. Absolutely scarce and one of a kind antique jewelry / jewellery collector set and one of the finest gold and sapphire Imperial Russian cufflinks crafted by A. Tillander.
